Frequently asked questions

Why does something not appear in the take-off? The take-off calculates from the saved drawing. Save the drawing and look at the warnings: the device or cable route must belong to a catalogue item (on the Symbols and Take-off rules pages), and the item must exist in the Catalogue.

I cannot place a device in the distribution board. The catalogue item must have module data on the Module data page (kind, width, number of poles, rated current…).

The quotation total does not match the take-off. Recalculation leaves “manually overridden” rows alone. The Reset button resets the row to the value calculated from the drawing.

The drawing “was changed elsewhere in the meantime”. Someone else has also edited the same drawing (or you did in another tab). Reload brings in the saved state (your own changes are lost), Overwrite with mine saves yours.

A device or cable has disappeared from the drawing. Look at the Layers menu: the layer may be hidden. Clicking a finding of the check makes the layer visible again automatically.

The designation of the device is “?”. The designation is calculated from the saved drawing; save the drawing.

Which browser should I use? A modern, up-to-date browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox). The PDF is made from the browser's print function.

I have found a bug, or I have an idea. Where can I write? With the Feedback button in the bottom right corner: enter your name and e-mail address, write your message, and the program sends it to the site operator; you receive the reply at the address you gave. The button is also available without logging in. In the floor plan editor the button is not shown (so that it does not cover the drawing): go back to the project page from there.

What can the program not do yet?

  • Mirroring on the floor plan, and copying walls, openings or rooms into a block (a whole floor is transferred by copying the floor).
  • Automatic history between revisions (only explicitly issued revisions are stored), branching and merging, versioning of underlays, deleting a revision.
  • Not every country's symbol set has its own drawings (see the Symbols chapter).

Nature of the calculations. The electrical sizing, the checks and the room minimums are informative and reflect practice; they do not replace the designer's professional responsibility or checking against the standards in force.
