10. Printing, drawing set and DXF
Drawing printout (one floor)
The Print button of the floor plan editor opens the print view of the saved drawing in a new tab. The following can be set:
- the paper size (A4/A3) and the orientation;
- the scale;
- the content (Everything, Power plan, Low-current plan, Architectural base, or as the editor's layers);
- showing the legend, the circuit list and the device designations;
- Mark changes: a revision cloud is drawn around the devices and cable routes added or modified since the previous revision, with the revision mark in a triangle at the corner of the cloud (for the current state, with the next, not yet issued mark). For the first revision, and without revisions, there is nothing to compare with.
The sheet is produced in the project's document language (set on the project page, in the Title block section), regardless of the interface language: so an English drawing can be printed from a Hungarian interface, and vice versa. The drawing set, the schedules (PDF, XLSX, CSV), the quotation printout, the single-line diagram and the DXF are produced in the same language. At the bottom of the sheet there is a standard title block with the details of the designer, the company and the project (see the descriptions of the Profile and the Title block). The Print / Save as PDF button opens the browser's print dialog: to paper or to PDF. Every printed sheet carries the site name (villamosrajz.hu): on the drawing sheets, above the title block, on the right.
Drawing set
The Print drawing set item of the project page combines several sheets in one printout, with continuous page numbering:
- the sheets can be selected by group: Floor plans, Floor plans by layer (e.g. power and low-current on separate sheets), Wall elevations, Legend and circuits, and the schedules (Cable schedule, Circuit schedule, Bill of materials);
- the paper size, the orientation and the scale (Fit to sheet, 1:50, 1:100…) are common settings;
- every sheet gets the same standard title block;
- the Revision sheet is a table of the issued revisions (mark, date, issuer, note, changes), in chronological order;
- Mark changes can also be switched on for the floor plans of the drawing set (revision cloud);
- with the State selector, an old revision can be printed instead of the current state (the Print button of the Revisions table also leads here): the sheets are produced from the revision's snapshot, a banner above the sheet says so (“Revision B (07/10/2026) – not the current state”), and the title block shows the revision mark and date, and the drawing number prefix and design stage at the time of issue. For an old revision, the schedules (cable schedule, circuit schedule, bill of materials) cannot be printed, because they are calculated from the current state.
The Revision field of the title block, if the project's title block has no manually entered value, is the mark of the most recently issued revision.
Single-line diagram and schedules
The single-line diagram of a distribution board and the schedules (cable schedule, circuit schedule, bill of materials) have their own print views, with the same title block; see the Distribution boards and the Take-off, quotation and schedules chapters.
Printing a quotation
In the print view of a quotation, the Floor plan at the end of the quotation checkbox also attaches the drawing sheets, with a short title block. On the cover page of the quotation, the site name is at the bottom edge; on the further pages, at the bottom of the page (the latter appears in Chrome and Edge).
Creating a PDF
There is no separate PDF generator: every print view uses the browser's Print / Save as PDF command. For the best result, in the browser's print dialog switch off headers and footers, leave scaling at 100%, and make the paper size match the one chosen in the view.
DXF export (for CAD programs)
An overview of exporting and of loading a DXF as an underlay is given on the DXF electrical design page. The DXF menu in the top bar saves the floor to a DXF file:
- This floor, This floor – visible layers only, This floor – devices without blocks.
- The file is produced in the browser, from the drawing currently being edited (even if not yet saved), in mm.
- Content: walls, openings, devices (as blocks by default), cable routes on layers by system and kind, conductor marking and circuit labels, stairs and risers, furnishings (on the
BERENDEZESlayer). - From the project page, all floors can be put into a single file, placed side by side.
The DXF can be opened with a CAD program (e.g. LibreCAD, QCAD).
